What's the difference between bar and atm?
1 bar = 100,000 Pa, while 1 atm (standard atmosphere) = 101,325 Pa. They are very close — 1 atm is about 1.01325 bar — but they are not identical. Bar is widely used in industry and meteorology; atm is the traditional reference for standard conditions in chemistry and physics.
Why do weather reports use mbar or hPa?
1 millibar (mbar) is exactly equal to 1 hectopascal (hPa). Weather services adopted this scale because sea-level pressure (~1013 mbar) falls in a convenient numeric range. The unit also ties neatly to the SI system through the pascal.
What tire pressure in PSI vs bar?
A typical passenger-car tire is inflated to about 32–35 PSI, which is roughly 2.2–2.4 bar. To convert: divide PSI by ~14.504 to get bar, or multiply bar by ~14.504 to get PSI.
What is mmHg used for (blood pressure)?
