About This Tool
This crypto converter fetches live prices from the CoinGecko API for the top 18 cryptocurrencies by market cap, alongside major fiat currencies via the Frankfurter API (ECB rates). Select any pair — crypto to crypto, crypto to fiat, or fiat to fiat — and see conversions update in real time. Prices auto-refresh every 30 seconds and are cached locally so the tool works offline. The live prices table shows current USD price, 24-hour change, and market cap at a glance. Where do the prices come from?
Cryptocurrency prices come from CoinGecko, which aggregates data across hundreds of exchanges. Fiat exchange rates come from the European Central Bank via the Frankfurter API. Both are refreshed every 30 seconds.
How is the conversion calculated?
All assets are priced in USD as a common pivot. To convert BTC to EUR, for example, we take the USD price of BTC and divide by the USD price of EUR. This cross-rate method works for any pair.
Why might prices differ from my exchange?
CoinGecko reports aggregated market prices. Individual exchanges have their own order books, spreads, and fees that cause slight differences. Use this tool for quick estimates and comparisons.
What does the 24h change percentage mean?
It shows how much the coin's USD price has moved in the last 24 hours. Green means the price went up; red means it went down. This is a rolling 24-hour window, not a fixed daily close.
